Executive Director
The Dedham Housing Authority is seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants for the position of Executive Director. The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the field of housing management, community development, public administration or a closely related field. Must have a working knowledge of fiscal management, maintenance systems, personnel and administrative management systems in private or public housing. One year’s supervisory experience of a staff of seven or more is required. Written and verbal skills necessary to effectively communicate with local officials, boards, residents and funding agencies. Considerable knowledge of local, state and federal governmental procedures and regulations as they relate to housing development, construction and the management of local housing authority operations. The applicant must be bondable and pass a Criminal History background check. Candidates should have or be prepared to obtain certification as a Public Housing Manager (PHM) from a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved organization, as well as a Massachusetts Certification (MPHA) within one year of hire. The Dedham Housing Authority consists of 205 units of Chapter 667 Elderly Handicapped units; 104 units of Chapter 200 units; 8 units of Chapter 689 Residence; 461 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) units; and 24 units of HUD Low Income Public Housing. In addition, the Dedham Housing Authority is the Management Entity for 451 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers for 7 neighboring housing authorities. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience. Required Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Salary range for this position is between $ 117,.000 and $136,0.00 depending upon experience and education and subject to approval by the Department of Housing and Community Development. |
