The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA), also known as the Superior Court Clerk's Office, is an innovative, forward-looking agency using technology to help perform tasks better, more efficiently and reliably. DJA performs a variety of services for the Court, litigants and the general public. DJA's mission is to provide professional, high-quality Superior Court record services and justice system programs, while ensuring access to justice and integrity in the process.
DJA is seeking a Business Analyst who will be a dynamic trainer throughout the department, a person who will define and document our business functions and processes, will work with vendors, technology staff and business staff to understand how technology can improve DJA's business operations and much more. We are looking for someone who can be a great leader, is organized, detail oriented, customer focused with both interest and skill in improving processes through optimal system performance.

WORK LOCATION: This position will be based at the King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle but will also travel to the Juvenile Division at 1211 East Alder, Seattle, and to the Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 4th Ave. N, Kent, WA 98032.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime eligible. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

- Job Duties
- Analysis of existing business processes and tools, and helping to design a future state model that supports our needs.
- Lead teams or work with subject matter experts to study and analyze business requirements and alternative options for improvements for a variety of operational, procedural and management issues.
- Monitoring system functionality and acting as a business and technical expert in solving referred issues from less experienced staff.
- Act as a consultant and primary advisor to all levels of department leadership and project teams as a technical resource for cross-functional processes.
- Performing data mapping in support of data conversion and integration work.
- Analyzing and testing proposed system interfaces, enhancements, and upgrades prior to implementation.
- Assisting with the development of acceptance criteria.
- Support business teams and department committees in identifying and delivering business process improvements through the application of process improvement methodologies. Utilize knowledge of DJA systems and applications to suggest system design modifications and implementation to meet requirements.
- Facilitating and helping to identify complex system changes; working with the change management team to assess potential system-wide impacts of proposed module configuration changes.
- Preparing system documentation and training materials and assist with keeping documentation up to date.
- Plan and perform assessment surveys to discover needs/requirements of processes and systems.
- Actively working on the requirements traceability matrix to determine and track outstanding requirements on a wide variety of projects within the department.
- Participate in the ongoing maintenance and support of internal systems, with the intent to streamline process and align with best practices.

- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
A Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related field and a minimum of two (2) years related business process analysis and improvement experience, which includes facilitation/leadership experience.
Or any combination of experience/education/training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.- Advanced knowledge of analysis, design, and development of a variety of business systems.
- Knowledge of performance auditing and quality assurance management concepts and tools.
- Knowledge of process improvement methods and techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies.
- Knowledge of group dynamics and change management.
- Knowledge of statistical concepts and theories.
- Skill in leading process improvement workshops.
- Skill as a team leader, trainer and facilitator.
- Skill in conducting research and analyzing policies, rules, specialized or technical work processes and systems.
- Skill in analyzing information, resolving complex analytical challenges, and making recommendations based on analysis.
- Skill in utilizing auditing and quality assurance, diagnostic, and evaluation tools.
- Skill in analytical thinking and collaborative problem solving.
- Skill in planning, organizational techniques, and project management.
- Skill in communication, including preparing clear, concise reports and making presentations to diverse audiences.
- Skill in facilitating meeting with internal and external participants.
- Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Skill in customer service.
- Skill in using current office software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and email.
