Lakehaven Water and Sewer District has immediate openings for a Treatment Plant Operator in our
Wastewater Operations Department. Applications will be accepted for any level in the position range

As a Lakehaven Wastewater Operations Treatment Plant Operator, you will be part of a team that has
been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for its environmental stewardship
and has been a long-standing member of the American Water Works Association. Lakehaven has a
service area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County,
makings us the second largest special-purpose water and sewer district in the state. Our water system
includes 450 miles of water mains, 25 active wells, and 12 storage tanks, which allows us to meet a
current annual average water demand of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) from the community.
Lakehaven also has 2 wastewater treatment plants, 27 sewer lift stations, and 350 miles of sewer mains
capable of collecting and treating up to 15.6 MGD. Our employees work hard to produce and treat high

Employees in the Wastewater Operations Treatment Plant perform and/or assist with minor and major
maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment and construction of supporting structures used in
the wastewater treatment plants operated by the District. Assigned duties include but are not limited
to: data collection, water quality monitoring/treatment and sampling, process control work, grounds/
building maintenance, piping/valve/pump repairs and other preventative and corrective maintenance
duties within the facilities. Position placement and pay is dependent upon experience and
qualifications.
The successful candidate should have some of the following:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Prior wastewater internship experience is desired.
Wastewater Operator Certification Course – Must submit proof of enrollment prior to interview.
Any certifications or licenses applicable to the utility; i.e. CPR/First Aid Training, Certified Flagging,
Confined Space Entry, etc. must be obtained within on (1) year of initial employment.
A valid Washington State Competency certificate “Group I – OIT” as a Wastewater Treatment Plant
Operator must be obtained within one (1) year from initial employment.
