Social Media Coordinator/Manager
This Social Media position will be filled at a Coordinator or Manager level, depending on the qualifications of the chosen candidate.
The Social Media Coordinator/Manager leads NCIA's social media presence and grows its following, aligning social media efforts with the overall marketing strategy, and also provides general marketing and business development support where needed. S/he will lead social media efforts in service of growing membership through new leads and conversions, as well as engaging potential sponsors. This role is accountable for ensuring that the quality and size of NCIA's social media efforts are in line with the organization's role in the industry.
Core responsibilities:
Develop social media strategy and plans
- Under the guidance of the Head of Growth and in collaboration with others in marketing, design overall social media strategy, as well as individual campaigns and storylines.
- Develop and implement social media calendars.
- Manage all social media channels, expanding and revising the portfolio as appropriate.
Manage social media presence for NCIA's Executive Director and Government Relations Director.
Produce social media content and posts
- Write and edit copy for social media posts.
- Support the social media message and story by conceiving of and collaborating on graphical elements for posts.
- Produce graphics/images based on templates and engage multimedia manager in producing additional suitable graphics/images for posts, as needed.
- Ensure brand and stylistic alignment of all social media posts.
- Engage in social media conversations, both within NCIA's channels, on non-NCIA posts/channels, and various other forums.
Curate and share additional social media content
- Identify select outside content to share and promote, enhancing NCIA's position as a resource for members.
Measure and improve social media effectiveness
- Produce and share monthly metrics reports.
- Implement social media listening tools to capture trend data.
- Set targets to improve metrics and content.
Oversee sponsor/partner fulfillment
- Ensure that assigned colleagues fulfill all deliverables for sponsors and partners in a timely fashion.
- Edit and create standard graphics in Photoshop and/or InDesign for social media use
Provide additional support, as needed
- Example responsibilities that could arise:
- Draft Marketing emails
- Assist with video shoots, if/as needed
- Attend internal/external events to provide on-site social media support
- Manage paid LinkedIn campaigns
- Help members craft and execute on sponsored social media campaigns
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of real-world marketing experience
- Knowledge of Google Suite (or Microsoft Office)
- Highly detail oriented and an excellent proofer
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, working independently with tight deadlines and multiple concurrent projects
- Positive attitude with great communication and team skills
- Bridge builder with a passion for customer service
- Basic/functional experience editing in Photoshop and/or InDesign
Beneficial/preferred qualifications
- Intermediate to expert experience editing in Photoshop and/or InDesign
