Job Description: Water Master – Trail Creek Sprinkler Irrigation Company
Trail Creek Sprinkler Irrigation Company is seeking a self-employed, highly motivated
Water Master for the 2025 irrigation season, running from April 15th to October 15th. This
seasonal position requires someone with extensive knowledge of irrigation systems, water
management, and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure the efficient and fair
distribution of water. As a Water Master, you will play a crucial role in managing the
irrigation needs of various users and ensuring compliance with water rights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor Streamflow's and Reservoir Levels: Regularly check streamflow's and
reservoir levels to ensure adequate water supply for all users.
• Water Usage Oversight: Track and manage water use to ensure equitable
distribution across all water right holders.
• Prevent Illegal Diversions: Identify and take action to stop illegal water diversions
to maintain the integrity of the system.
• Regular System Inspections: Perform ongoing inspections of irrigation systems to
ensure functionality and resolve any issues.
• Assess Water Right Holders: Determine whether a water right holder is eligible to
divert water based on priority dates.
• Allocate Water: Allocate available water among water right holders, ensuring
compliance with water rights and priority dates, especially during periods of low
water availability.
Position Details:
• Self-Employed: The Water Master position is considered self-employed, offering an
independent work environment.
• Seasonal Role: The position runs from April 15th through October 15th.
