Assistant City Administrator
Employment opportunity Woods Cross City is taking applications for the position of Assistant City Administrator.
General Purpose:
Performs a variety of professional administrative and managerial duties related to planning, directing, organizing, and controlling the administrative processes necessary to assist the City Administrator in carrying out the efficient and economic operation of the city. Main areas of responsibility include personnel management, financial operations and risk management.
Supervision Received:
Works under broad policy guidance and direction of the City Administrator.
Supervision Exercised:
Provides broad policy guidance to department heads as directed by the City Administrator and provides coordination of the Front/Office personnel.
Essential Function:
- Responsible for overseeing all human resources function in the City, with a particular focus on activities related to advancement and discipline of city employees. Advises the City Administrator on any personnel action to be taken by the City Administrator. Exercise supervision over the City's performance evaluation process. Works directly with the Department Heads to ensure performance evaluations are done effectively and timely.
- Oversees and coordinates all financial operations of the city as directed y the City Administrator. Assists the City Administrator in the preparation of the annual budget and the monitoring o revenues and expenditures during the fiscal year. Provides back up support for essential financial functions.
- Acts as Risk Manager for the city, working with the city's insurance provider and Department Heads on insurance and liability issues. Chairs the City's safety Committee.
- When assigned, works directly with Department Heads in establishing goals, objective, and performance targets; prepares and administer reviews of department performances.
- Provides coordination of the Front Office Personnel. Works with the Front Office Personnel to ensure front office responsibilities are defined and coordinated.
- Attends City Council Meetings and other meeting representing the City Administrator as needed.
- Perform the duties of City Administrator, as assigned, during the City Administrator's absence.
- Performs related duties as required.
